Curriculum


IB-PYPPYP curriculum has been designed for students aged from 3-12, which focuses on children’s exploration competence. PYP program is a teaching frame which is leaded by 6 interdisciplinary topics. Students use skills and knowledges that they learned from the 6 interdisciplinary topics to explore programs.

Except IB PYP curriculum, BIBS Chengdu Campus implements many Western culture classes. Children’s horizon can be broadened through bilingual and interdisciplinary curriculum. We also have dance, drama, calligraphy, Wushu, science and technology, analyze mentally, lecture class etc. to develop every talent. We expect children not only receive 9 –Year-compulsory education, but also make a fully preparation for MYP, and to adapt to the future’s mainstream education as well as culture difference.

IB-MYP

The MYP provides a coherent and comprehensive curriculum framework that is both academically challenging and also develops a student’s life skills from the ages of 11 to 16. These years are a critical period in the development of young people. Success in school is closely related to personal, social and emotional well-being. At a time when students are establishing their identity and building their self- esteem, the MYP can motivate students and help them to achieve success in school and in life beyond the classroom. MYP curriculum is both an extension of PYP and a foundation of DP.
The courses of the MYP in BIBS include: Chinese language, English language, Individual and Societies (history, geography, morality and legal education), math, science (physics, chemistry, general science), art (music, visual art), design (computer science and integrated design),PE and health education. 

IB-DP

The DP is a curriculum that is challenging and well balanced. It has been designed for students aged 16-19, and aims to help students to improve their intelligence, social skills and increase their knowledge.  Through DP, students should become more caring human beings with positive attitudes toward others as well as respect for diverse cultures.  DP students are fully prepared to enter to a fast-changing and international society. 

A-LevelA-Level is the abbreviation of General Certificate of Education Advanced Level, which is high level education in Britain and also the college entrance examination for British students. The A-level certificate is accepted by almost all universities that teach in English and the length of schooling is 2 years. 

A-Level courses in BIBS are: 
AS Period (G11): Math, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, computer science, science of commerce, advanced math.
A2 period (G12): Math, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, computer science, science of commerce, advanced math.

AP

The full name of AP courses is Advanced Placement Program. It is developed by The College Board. It is a university-level course offered in high school. It has been widely offered in more than 17,000 high schools in the United States. AP courses are the deepening of high school courses and are also courses and exams for universities to assess the learning potential of high school students after entering the university. Through AP course study and examinations, students are more likely to be admitted to universities, especially prestigious schools, and can enjoy credit-reduction and exemption courses, and students can complete their university studies ahead of schedule. In addition, the difficulty and challenges of AP courses can allow students to experience and adapt to the studies in the United States and Canada in advance, and lay a solid foundation for students to successfully complete their studies after entering the United States and Canada.

We offer 12 AP courses, including AP calculus, AP physics, AP macro / microeconomics, AP history, AP chemistry etc.
